Evansville is a city in the state of Indiana, which also serves as the county seat for the Vanderburgh County. As of the 2010 United States Census, the City of Evansville has a population of more than 117,400. Archaeologists believe the village was located on the biggest mound, while the smaller mounds had cosmological and ceremonial purposes. Visitors to the Angel Mounds State Historic Site can get to discover more on the prehistoric culture through a model museum portraying day to day life in the village. The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden is sprawled on 45 acres of land situated on the northwestern direction of the city.
